Hi Is there a way of extending the TX capability of this radio. I have one and am curious if it could TX on say pmr 446 as at present it shows as an error if out of TX range. cheers for the video.

got one from radiomart, and, immediately handed it over to an experienced HAM user, who eagerly ran power and function tests on all 4 bands. here's what he reported: 50W (+/- 2W) on all bands (performing better than spec). Internal speaker, absolutely non-functional, however, external speaker plug functioning fine (not entirely an issue for me, as I plan on running on an external speaker so that I can keep the unit itself out of the way. handmic was found to be good quality, though users could hear everything going on around the tester, so, something to be mindful of. Only big issue found, was that in the 10m band, the frequency was picking up and broadcasting 10khz higher than what the radio was displaying it was on (28.550 on screen, radio a few houses down was broadcasting on 28.560 was the way it was explained to me.) while that's certainly an issue, knowing that it's the case mostly solves the issue. The radio DID however have several frequencies pre-programmed in it prior to my receiving, so, given that the internal speaker isn't working, and there are already frequencies pre-loaded and stored, he's thinking that I received a used radio vs a new radio.

I subscribe to Sky and have Eurosport HD, so I can record the races but its stored in the Sky HD receiver as an encrypted format and I'm wanting to extract it to an external hard drive without encryption, so i can create my own .MOV files for future viewing..

Martyn, we only met Tommy a few times as we knew his team mate and he was very talented and lovely person. Unfortunately the EuroSport UK feed over here is encrypted, so I trying to find a way of capturing it ( i'm told I need to get a box that strips off the encryption, then I need to send it uncompressed to my laptop. I can then edit it, just to capture Matt's racing. Any races you record will be greatly appreciated. Thankyou.

Can you tell me why some people are saying that the 10m/6m bands are disabled? I would like to buy one, but will not unless ALL bands actually work. Two people stated that their radios did not have these band in operation.

I purchased this radio from you and it's great, the only issue I'm having is the programming software, I get an unsupported operation error when it starts, I click ok and I can connect/ read from the radio, but it crashes as soon as I click the Channel edit button. I'm on Win 7. I couldn't find the software anywhere but your site. I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something (like an update). Any ideas?

Can you tell me please how the Cross-Band Repeater works. The only Video what i see was a Video where is a Papagei repeating from this Radio but no 1:1 Repeating so i need this Function and if it is over a RAM sampled delay it is not a Cross-Band Repeater. Best Regards Volker

I am seriously considering purchasing this radio, and so far the price on your site is the lowest I've found, I do have a question however, How does this work with an antenna? I heard you mention something about a build in triplexer? does this mean that the radio will tune itself with an antenna so as to be able to use the same antenna for all bands? or does this require an antenna switcher? sorry I only recently obtained my license and I'm pretty new to these super multi function radio's. The radio cross bands. Does it also same band repeat as well? Have you noticed any heat issues yet when used on high power. And also 10, 11, 12 meter am tx!??

Martyn, so with this HT radio I can TX/RX via 1.25 Meters. My UV-5R+ only gets me 2 Meter and 70 Cm. That would be a welcome addition. I really like the looks and capability of the TYT 9800 Quad band radio as well. Thanks for your videos.

I just received 2 UV-82's with mic's and software and programing cable.. The programing disk that I bought doesn't work. If I had to judge these radios today I would call them junk. However I will hold my judgement for now. What do I need to program the UV-82's I have the cable.

Hello, I picked up the UV-82X with the cable so that I could program the radio with the help of my computer. I am not able to program the radio from any computer that I have tried to use and I have tried to do a manual program as well. When I do a manual program I can program 146.880 with the correct setting and get into the repeater. I can not get the 220 repeater to work on the radio at all because the radio always goes to UHF when I enter in 224.540 and save it. I have tried to set the offset before and after entering in the frequency but it keeps going back to UHF for some strange reason. Can someone please help me with this or send me the steps that I need to take so I can make this work? Thank you
